Surge In Online Banking In Ireland
According to the Bank of Ireland, the number of small businesses using its Business Online service doubled in the past 12 months. During 2004, Bank of Ireland said that around 5 million instructions and 35 million transactions were carried out by the bank's 70,000 registered business users.

72 Million European Users By 2010
Nearly 72 million households in Europe will have broadband by 2010, according to projections released Wednesday by Forrester Research. This will amount to 41 percent penetration of the total population and 67 percent of those expected to be online that year, the market researcher said.

US Broadband Use Up By 35%
US - The number of broadband users in U.S. homes increased by 35.9% in 2004. The growth of broadband users in the home outpaced the growth at work by 14.5%.
10Mbps Broadband Launched
Australia - Internet service provider, BigAir, is offering 10Mbps broadband service to some of its residential customers. The ISP, which specialises in providing internet access for residents of low-rise apartments and tower blocks, claimed that the new offering was the fastest available in Australia.
BNSL Offer Varied Plan
Kolkata, India - Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), the country’s largest telecom service provider, has decided to offer separate broadband tariff packages for home and business users. BSNL will launch its broadband services in 198 cities across the country soon, according to Anand Khare, joint DDG (commercial).
