| Cable operator ntl Ireland and ESB Telecom have
announced an agreement for the introduction of ntl Broadband services to
Galway and Waterford. Under the agreement ESB Telecom will supply high
quality bandwidth services between major nodes on its network to ntl. This
bandwidth will provide additional network resources required enabling
roll-out of broadband to other parts of ntl's network areas.
Ntl Ireland began an investment programme this year to enable its network
to deliver broadband services to consumers and now has over 66,500 homes
marketable for broadband, an increase of 38,500 in the third quarter.
